GNU Taler at Datenspuren 2024

Datenspuren is an annual symposium of the Chaos Computer Club Dresden, which has been held since 2004, on technical and social topics.

Event currency SPURLOS

During the event, participants were able to pay with GNU Taler, using a local GNU Taler exchange that was setup for the event and a currency called SPURLOS (en: TRACELESS) at a rate 1:1 to EUR. The Taler System for this event was setup in cooperation with Mikolai Gütschow from the ConcreteContracts team. Here is the announcement in German.

Merchant Integrationworkshop

Özgür Kesim from ConcreteContracts and other members of the GNU Taler developer team gave a workshop for software developers who want to integrate there systems with GNU Taler. Translation of the abstract:

From static QR codes to the merchant back office to the RESTful HTTP API, there are many ways to offer payments with GNU Taler. What they all have in common is that you only hack with free software and the people who pay can remain anonymous.

In this workshop we will guide you through how to accept your first payment as a merchant, how to operate the merchant backend and how to use it with other software (such as e-commerce) or via API.

If you would like to integrate Taler into projects beyond the workshop or have other sound ideas in connection with Taler and FLOSS, you can apply for EU funding of 5,000 to 50,000 euros (https://nlnet.nl/taler/).
